Mr. Phillips, a lecturer on early Alabama History, is presenting a talk on "Lost in Antebellum Alabama". He will discuss many of the lesser known facts regarding early pioneer development of Alabama, including pioneer cabin and plantation life. It covers the 1818-1860 roads, taverns, and hazards of stagecoach travel. It also covers the early steamboat and river landings and goes into detail on some of the riverboat tragedies of the era. There will be a variety of artifacts on display from photos and videos of lesser-known plantations and antebellum sites to coins, bottles, maps, buttons and other antebellum relics.
